    Assumptions

    • When category weights are entered, weighted grading is used for the main result.

    • Extra credit, dropped assignments, curves, and attendance policies are not included.
    How it works

    How this calculator works

    What it estimates

Calculate a class grade from assignment scores, total points, and optional weights.

    Formula and example

    • Points-based grades divide total earned points by total possible points. Weighted grades multiply each category percentage by its category weight, then sum those contributions.
    • If homework is 25% of the course, tests are 50%, and a project is 25%, the calculator multiplies each category average by its weight to estimate the current grade.
