Grade Calculator
Use this grade calculator to estimate a current course average from assignments, quizzes, tests, labs, or project categories.

middle school, high school, and college classes.
Add multiple rows to reflect your syllabus.
Row 1
Row 2
Row 3
| Homework | 92% | 25% weight • 23 contribution |
|---|---|---|
| Tests | 84.38% | 50% weight • 42.19 contribution |
| Project | 94% | 25% weight • 23.5 contribution |
Assumptions
- When category weights are entered, weighted grading is used for the main result.
- When all weights are left at 0, the calculator falls back to a points-based average.
- Extra credit, dropped assignments, curves, and attendance policies are not included.
How this calculator works
What it estimates
Calculate a class grade from assignment scores, total points, and optional weights.
Formula and example
- Points-based grades divide total earned points by total possible points. Weighted grades multiply each category percentage by its category weight, then sum those contributions.
- If homework is 25% of the course, tests are 50%, and a project is 25%, the calculator multiplies each category average by its weight to estimate the current grade.
